Power Core Gateway

Modular IP Audio I/O Node for mc² Mixing Systems

Power Core Gateway is a license that turns a Power Core edge device into a modular, networked I/O node for live-sound and broadcast applications. An ideal solution for direct connections to a network (LAN or WAN), and for interfacing with Dante islands in your setup, it accommodates all the diverse audio formats found in modern production environments.

Power Core Gateway provides audio I/O connectivity with functions that can be remotely controlled from a Lawo mc² console, crystal panel or Lawo’s mxGUI software for Mac and PC.

In its standard form, Power Core Gateway supports 256 redundant (ST2022-7) RAVENNA/AES67 and SMPTE ST2110-30 channels and 256 MADI channels via its front-panel ports.

Its physical I/O count can be expanded via the eight rear-panel slots that accommodate expansion cards for microphones, line sources, headphone outputs, AES3, MADI, Dante and GPI/O signals. The 64-channel MADI and Dante cards support sample rate conversion on the inputs, which facilitates setups across different audio domains. In total, 512 input and 512 output audio channels and 16 GPI/Os can be configured using expansion cards. If more baseband audio (MIC/Line and AES3) is needed, the Power Core Gateway supports up to 20 Audio I/O Extenders (AIOX), for a total of 1024 audio channels.

The streaming capacity can be expanded with 256 additional RAVENNA/AES67 and ST 2110-30 channels using an optional add-on license.

Easy to Deploy and Operate

The Power Core Gateway software comes pre-installed for fast and easy deployment. The selected I/O configuration auto-populates in the signal list of your mc² console or mxGUI. Stream management is performed using HOME, Lawo’s management platform for IP-based media infrastructures.

Configure it your way

Power Core comes standard with a staggering amount of AES67 and MADI I/O already installed. But you can add lots more, quickly and easily. 8 rear-panel slots accommodate a variety of I/O cards, many with high-density DB-25 connectors using the AES59 wiring standard to facilitate quick and easy hookup. Simply pick the I/O you need and slide it into Power Core’s waiting expansion slots — it couldn’t be simpler.

Power Core has loads of front-panel MADI, but you can add even more! Two SFP ports provide 64 channels each.

SFP MADI card with sample-rate conversion supports asynchronous operation with audio sources up to 96kHz.

Got mics? Of course you do. This card provides 8 switchable mic/line channels, with selectable phantom power.

Even today’s digital world still has some analog sources. The Line interface provides 8 mono or 4 stereo inputs.

8 mono or 4 stereo outputs, to interface Power Core with your legacy equipment.

Connect your AES/EBU devices. Each card has 4 digital inputs (with sample rate conversion) and 4 digital outputs; bit-transparent.

AES/EBU I/O card for use with HD-BNC connections; 4 inputs with SRC, 4 outputs. Compatible with Dolby E sources; bit-transparent.

The perfect way to connect to Dante networks. Two redundant ports give access to a total of 64 Dante streams.

The Swiss army knife of interfaces. Each card adds 2 Mic/Line inputs, 2 Line outputs and 2 headphone outputs for on-air convenience.

8 GPI + 8 GPO, and 2 VCA inputs for control of external devices.

Expandable Audio

The four MADI front ports on the Power Core hardware can be used to connect Audio I/O Extender (AIOX) units, each with eight rear-panel slots for additional 8-channel I/O cards. AIOX is an ideal complement for convenient distribution of I/O connection points. AIOX is an ideal complement for convenient distribution of I/O connection points. It delivers up to 64 channels of I/O in just 1RU.

Its rear-panel slots that can host any combination of the available 8- or 64-channel analog or digital I/O cards, and the GPI/O card. Mix and match to easily expand your RAVENNA/AES67 network with distributed inputs and outputs.

Like Power Core, AIOX features redundant power supplies and two audio/control ports for either single-mode or redundant-mode operation.
